Irish Stew: 

For 9 to 12 year old children

Ingredients:

125 g beef chuck steak, chopped into chunks

1 carrot, peeled and cut into quarter strips

1 potato, peeled and cut into chunks

1 parsnip, peeled and cut into cubes

1/4 cup peas

1tsp cornflour

1 cup of diluted beef stock

 

Preparation:

Add the beef to the stock over heat and gently bring to the boil.

Let it simmer for an hour (to make sure that the meat is tender enough for your baby to chew).

Add the remainder of the ingredients and let the mixture simmer for 1/2 hour or until the vegetables are soft.

Add corn flour, stir through until the mixture thickens and becomes creamy.

Mash the mixture and serve.
