From 0 to 6 Months:

ONLY breast milk or formula

It was, and probably still is, a common knowledge that babies can be introduced to solid food from 4 months old. However, the World Health Organization recently advised that infants should only be fed breast milk or formula and nothing else before they reach 6 months of age to achieve their best growth, immunity and development.

Before 6 months of age babies cannot control their reflexes well enough to uphold their heads steady and control their tongue reflexes. In addition to this, their digestive systems are not yet prepared to process solid food, whilst breast milk contains the ideal balance of nutrients, easy to digest, easy to swallow, hygienic, contains adequate antibodies and prevents constipation. The second best to breast milk at this stage of babies age is formula as it is the only alternative to breast milk.
